I didn't see a prompt to enter my W-2's while entering my info, and now tax home say's I've filed my taxed. Should I have already entered in my W-2? Did I miss my chance?

If you really e-filed without paying any attention to the screens, and did not enter any income, then you just have to wait.  The IRS will not even begin to accept or reject 2018 returns until January 28.  Since you e-filed it, it is just sitting on a server, and you cannot do one thing to fix your mistake.  You cannot cancel it, stop it, or change it.

If you get lucky and they reject your return, you will be able to correct your mistake and re-submit it with the corrections.  If it is accepted, then your real wait begins.  You will have to wait until it is fully processed--which will take at least a month, then you will have to prepare an amended return called a 1040X which you print, sign and mail to the IRS.  It cannot be e-filed.  It takes the IRS about 4 months to process an amended return.  IF you are getting a refund from that amended return, they will mail a check (no direct deposits for amended returns).

Meanwhile, do NOT try to change anything on your tax return.  If you do, you will make a big mess for yourself and it will be even harder to sort out.  Sit tight and see what the IRS does with your return in a few weeks.  Post back here for help when you know whether it was accepted or rejected.  You will get an email after January 28 telling you if your return was accepted or rejected.

I'm having trouble believing that any user really did this...it has to be some screen being misread, or perhaps someone using a Phone (which should never be used because you miss hundreds of things)

Did you really hit the "Transmit" button after going thru all your income...all your deductions...the healthcare questions too?  You can't even transmit until you've answered the Healthcare questions?

I did start on my phone, but stopped and moved to a computer when I thought I should've been asked about my W-2s. Right now, my home page reads "Way to go! You filed your 2018 taxes!" and below it reads "Federal Printed, ready to be mailed" and "MI State Started." It's definitely possible that I completely ruined my return, but I've always found Turbotax so intuitive and hard to mess up. I was thinking "I can't have just missed my chance to enter my W-2's! I always hit a wall after entering personal info that prompts me to add them..." At this point, I don't know if I have to wait for Turbotax to give me new options, or if I really need to wait to send in an ammendment form.

Was that Way-to-go just when yous started using your computer?  or did you just try to print a copy and that's when the Way-to-Go showed up?

Nahhh...Federal Printed seems to indicate you chose to file by mail on your own with printed copy.....(even if you didn't)  you can (probably) still change to e-file later and still e-file it.

But..how to be sure?  Don't know for sure...but check this Tomorrow (not now) and report back what your response is:

I believe the Way-To-Go showed up after I opted to print. I will check that tomorrow and report back. Thank you!

As long as you don’t mail it you haven’t filed yet.  After you get your return fixed up you can switch to efile

No results in Current E-File status, so apparently I haven't filed. Thanks for all the help!
