If your e-file was rejected, and you are just now realizing it---the only way to file now is by mail. E-filing is closed permanently. You will need to print, sign and date your return in ink, and mail it to the IRS and state. Most rejections are for AGI, which is irrelevant now since you only needed AGI for e-filing.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.
If you received an email that your tax return was transmitted then you will receive another email when the tax return was either Accepted or Rejected.
Check your email account and the junk or spam folders.
