My first stimulus went to my Bank where I formerly lived, but then I moved, and of course not realizing we would get a second stimulus, I have moved and closed my former account. Subsequently, this last stimulus was sent to the same account, and last week I received an e-mail from that Bank that they had received a stimulus payment and it was sent back to the IRS. The IRS says I will have to file. Now I have not filed taxes for the last 4-5 yrs. Im retired and have no other income other than Social Security... What do I have to file for a Senior to recup my stimulus, change my address, and Bank account. Thank you for any recommendations

You'll have to file a 2020 income tax return to claim the Recovery Rebate Credit (RRC). Create a TurboTax account and complete the tax return.

• Due to IRS rules, a return with $0 income cannot be e-filed. This is an IRS rule and applies for all tax software.  Intuit is seeking guidance from the IRS on how we can help these customers e-file their return and claim the RRC.
