I didn’t have employment for 3 months & couldn’t afford health insurance, have substantial medical expense debt and was evicted from apartment.Do I qualify for Hardship?

I had health ins and job for 8 months and let go then had temp job with no health ins for 1 month.  I did not have income or place to live for 4 months.  While I was working I had 10 day hospital stay and have over $6,000 medical expenses to still pay.  Thank you for your time. TW

Yes. According to the IRS, you have faced financial hardship. This is what the IRS counts:

Faced financial hardship
  • Couldn't pay medical bills
  • Got a utility shut-off notice
  • Filed for bankruptcy
  • Home damaged in fire, flood or other disaster
  • Was evicted, facing eviction, or foreclosed on
  • Homeless now or last year
