I didn't file in time. What should I do?

You can use TurboTax to complete and e-file the 2016 tax return up through October 16, 2017.  Also, a 2016 tax return can be printed and mailed at any time.

If you are due a tax refund there is no penalty for filing a tax return after the due date.

If you have taxes owed then you would want to complete and file the 2016 return as soon as possible since the penalty fees and interest on the unpaid taxes continue to mount up.  Once the 2016 return is filed and accepted by the IRS, then the IRS will be sending a bill in the mail for the penalties and interest owed.
