I did about $4000 worth of contract work for a consulting company and was told that they do not issue 1099s. Does that mean I don't need to report this income?
I do not have the company's EIN or SSN of porprietor.

No, you need to report all income you receive, even if you don't have a Form 1099. You report this income as Business Income, as additional income and other income, which includes 1099-K, cash, checks, and other income for which you didn't get a 1099.
