I have been filling my Federal income tax for at least 10 years with TurboTax and have always paid taxes on my Social Security. In the past they have been very good at comparing previous year to current year. Providing comparisons in a list of all items on the return. If they had , I would have seen the error immediately.
If you did not include your Social Security income on your return that has already been filed, you will need to amend it to determine whether the additional income will affect your bottom line based on the other income reported on your return.
The amended Form 1040X has not yet been released for 2020 tax returns. Take a look at the TurboTax article below and use the link to register your email address so that you will be notified when the amended Form 1040X is available. After the amended form is available, the article will be updated with instructions.
How do I amend my 2020 return?
