You don't report this balance, because it is not income to you, unless EJ sold some stock or other assets to convert them into cash. I assume that Edward Jones did not send you a 1099-R or other 1099 form, right? If they did, then you enter that form into your current return.
Do you mean that you closed out a retirement account?
You enter the 1099R for the distribution from the Edward Jones account. What you did with the money is not relevant--you do not enter that.
To enter your retirement income, Go to Federal> Wages and Income>Retirement Plans and Social Security>IRA 401 k) Pension Plan Withdrawals to enter your 1099R.
