I clicked something wrong in dependent info and now it wont let me go back and edit it. Keeps saying my child isn't eligible but I know he is

You probably answered something incorrectly in MY INFO.   Go back to MY INFO, click the child’s name  and go through all of the interview questions carefully and slowly.  Read every screen top to bottom.

Make sure you have entered your child as a dependent in My Info, and that you have entered the child's Social Security number.    Careful— do not say that your child’s SSN is not valid for employment.  If your child was born in 2025 make sure you said he lived with you the whole year.  There is an oddly worded question that asks if the child paid over half their own support.  Say NO to that question.

If your dependent was a full-time college student, make sure you were careful on the MY INFO screen for “Uncommon situations” and that you indicated there that they were a student.

That is my problem.  I realize I answered something incorrectly.  But it won't let me go back and edit it.  I have tried.

The steps in the previous answer should work, but if you are still having issues, please DELETE that person from your TurboTax file and then close out, restart and re-enter the child as a dependent again.

Did you receive a response that actually fixed the problem for you? I did the same thing but none of the fixes work.  When I go to "my info" it only lets me edit my name.

If you go back to My Info, on the left menu, you can add or edit any of your dependents.  You will see your information, your address and phone, your spouse and dependents will be under Your Household.  If you need to edit a dependent, click on the down arrow.  If you need to add another dependent, at the bottom you will see the option to Add another dependent.

Its fixed now.  Had to delete dependant and add again since it wouldn't let me edit it.
