yes, as long as you CAN'T claim, him.... if you COULD claim him, but have decided not to, he is not eligible for the stimulus (and that will be true for the 2nd stimulus that is coming)
I didn’t claim him and was able to due to me paying more than half of his living cost for 2019. So when I filed in the beginning of the year for the 2019 tax, I claimed him and got approved. But before the COVID 19 craziness he since got a job and I no longer support him at all, even though he isn’t working as much as he was hired to do. But he still supports himself and I wasn’t going to claim him for the 2020 tax return. So he still won’t get it even though the circumstances changed before all the business closed in March?
if your son made more than $4300 in 2020 you CAN'T claim him, therefore he is eligible for the $1200.
If that is the case, then when HE fills out the 2020 tax return and he should see the $1200 on line 30 Line 1040. If it isn't there, a question was answered incorrectly in responding to the TT questions.
