You misunderstood. For tax year 2018, a North Carolina tax return is required to be filed if your Federal gross income exceeds $14,000 for Head of Household.

to claim HOH? That sounds odd.
You have to have provided more than 50% of the support for the entire household for the entire year. Can you realistically do that on only $10,000?

Yeah actually I am head of household. Family owns the house and I’m a single mother so I only pay 300 in rent my lights and car so realistically I can.
