I checked the box for mailing the return. Turbo Tax informs me it has been e-filed. How can I stop the efile?

I would suggest confirming whether your return was e-filed. You may use this link to check your e-file status, please click this: https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

Also, it is not possible to cancel a return that has already been electronically filed.  It is the same as if you have put the return in the mailbox.  There is no way to pull it back.  You will have to wait now for the IRS to either accept or reject your return.  

If your return is ACCEPTED, then the IRS will process your return.  If you are missing information, you will have to amend your return to include the missing or incorrect information.  However, we highly recommend you wait until your return has been fully processed and you receive your refund before attempting an amendment.  This is because if the IRS finds another issue with your return, you don’t want to have to amend a second time.  

If your return is REJECTED by the IRS, then your return will be sent back and you will have an opportunity to review and resubmit your return.  You could then add or correct anything you wish.
