We apologize for any inconvenience this experience has caused and we are working diligently to help the returns get filed. On the above FAQ there is a link "here" that you can click on to receive an update once this has been corrected. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
I downloaded, installed, and saved the patch to my desktop. When I click on the patch, I now get a message "that the update patch cannot be installed because the program to be updated is missing or the upgrade patch may upgrade a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be updated exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch." I'm using TurboTax Premier Edition. I just had to file my daughter's federal return without the Massachusetts State return and already paid TurboTax the fee for electronic filing of the Massachusetts State return. How do I file this State return? Thank you. Debbie29
If the patch is not working for you for Massachusetts please contact us for assistance.
So I downloaded and installed the Massachusetts patch. It would not work and I was not able to transmit my daughter's State return with her Federal. After almost 2 hours on the phone with a TurboTax Rep, she was not able to resolve the issue and the best she could offer me was to uninstall and reinstall TurboTax! I finally asked to speak with a manager and after another 30 minutes and research done as I tried to tell them, it was a problem with the patch. Apparently this patch was put on February 8th, but another patch was updated yesterday on February 16th and it will take until Tuesday the manager told me to get through the system. So make sure you reinstall the updated patch for Massachusetts after Monday or Tuesday and then do another update to your TurboTax before you try to transmit your State return. Hope this saves you a waste of your time on the phone with TurboTax. Also, they told me that if the State return won't transmit, they don't refund your $19.99 to efile the return which must be paid before you try to transmit the return. However, ask for a manager and insist they return that fee. What good is a program is it won't efile the State but TurboTax takes your filing fee! Thank you, Debbie
