I can't enter the full employer's state ID number. It deletes the last number and asks to review the W-2 info and won't let me continue. Is there a way around it?

Are you entering the "-"?   For the state id number just enter the numbers do not enter the "-".    There should be no more than 8 numbers.

Length depends on the state....Utah has 14 ending with 3 lower-case letters "wth".

But correct, no dashes or special characters.

Oh, and if the number appears to start with the two-letter code for your state, the first two letters are likely supposed to go in the separate state code field, just before the separate number field

Like:  IA2345678   

...is  likely supposed to be IA in the first section of the box, and the 2345678 in the number portion of the box.

(but I don't know all state numbering formats)
