I can't edit a Copy 2 of Form 8949 The problem is that the copy opens in read-only format. What am I doing wrong?

I need to create a separate Form 8949 to report the cost basis of some long term sales, where the brokerage did not report the cost basis to the IRS. When I open the form and create a copy (Copy 2), I can't make any entries.

Try entering it this way:

1.  Click Federal Taxes across the top.

2.  Click Wages & Income across the top.

3.  Click I’ll choose what I work on.

4.  Scroll down to Investment Income.

5.  Click Start or Update by Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other.

You'll come into an interview that'll ask you to enter all the sales information.  When you're finished, it'll be on an 8949.

If you need to make changes to any of your other stock sales, use Step-by-Step (in the upper right-hand corner of Turbo Tax) to make any changes.  You may have to scroll down to see them all.
