I bought the turbo tax home & business and i am suppose to get a state

Can I reuse this state program?

With Home and Business (a desktop product--CD/download), you get one state program.  With that state program you can prepare as many state returns (of that same state) as you need.   There is currently a 24.99 state efile fee for each state return you efile (except no efile fee for New York state).   There is no fee to print and mail the state returns.

An additional state program (i.e., a second (different) state program) has a fee of 44.99.

Are you sure you didn't see 19.99?    Did you buy the CD or the download?  And where?    The state efile fee was originally 19.99 during the early weeks of filing season.  On March 17, it was increased to 24.99 when all products had price increases.

I bought the CD. Either at Sam's Club or Costco. So, from now on I have to pay 24.99 for each state efile?

The current fee for each state efile is 24.99, except for New York state.  There is no efile fee for New York state.  And no fee to print and mail the state returns.

Yes, you get 5 free Federal efiles.  You can prepare more Federal returns that that, but they extra ones would have to be printed and mailed.

If you feel strongly you saw a 9.99 state efile fee somewhere, you can discuss that with TurboTax Support.  But look on your CD box.  Does it show a 19.99 state efile fee?   As I said, prices increased on March 17.    Here's how you can reach Support if you need to:
