I have been using Turbo Tax Deluxe for a few years. I do this online because I have an account with Turbo Tax, and the program brings my old tax files over, which I like. I click on Deluxe, which says State included. I'm at the end, and now it's asking for an additional $65.00 just for my state. What the heck!!! I even tried to downgrade, and the program is giving me a hard time. I believe you have gimmels in your program. or, plan and simple, your deceiving consumers and that is not right. 😡😠. I think next year I'll find another program.

It's not clear exactly what all you did. So you have been using Online TurboTax (web version in a browser) to prepare your returns in the past?
You said you clicked on "Deluxe with State included." Deluxe with State included is a desktop product to be installed on one's computer; it is not an online product. Did you purchase (pay for) a desktop product (Deluxe Federal and State) prior to starting your tax return, but used Online TurboTax instead?
There is not a Deluxe Federal and State combo in the online versions. If you used Online TurboTax Deluxe, there is a fee to prepare the Federal return and an additional fee to prepare a state return. We may be able to tell you more once we are sure we understand your situation. But again, there are no free state returns in the paid Online editions; only the Free Edition (which is for very simple returns) has a free state product..
It sounds like you bought the Desktop program that you install on your computer and activate with the 16 digit License Code? Do you have the menus going across the top or down the left side in a black bar? If you were using the Online web version before you should notice the Desktop program is different and has more features. Were you able to transfer from 2023 Online into the Desktop program?
If you do have the Desktop program that comes with 1 state. What you get is 1 free state program download to prepare multiple state returns in that state. But each state return (including the first one) is $25 to efile or you can print and mail state for free. If you want the state efile fee deducted from your federal refund there is an Extra $40 Pay with Refund service charge which you can avoid by paying the fee upfront with a credit card. Go back through the FILE tab and pay with a credit card. You have to go SLOW and read each screen and watch what you click on to continue. There is one screen that can trip you up.
