Sorry but Printed or Ready to Mail means you have to actually print out your tax return and mail it to the IRS or state yourself. So it has not been filed yet. And it will always say Ready to Mail. Turbo Tax doesn’t know if or when you mailed it and the IRS doesn’t update Turbo Tax when they get your mailed return. You can try to switch to efile. Click on Add a State to let you back into your retun.
Or if you want to mail a return from the Online version
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS received the return. Don’t forget state.
Important! Mail Federal and State in separate envelopes and mail each year in separate envelopes.
4 weeks after mailing you can start checking IRS Where's my refund
Not reading the screens is the ONLY way a user can possible miss the fact that THEY need to print, ink sign and mail in the return if they chose that option in the FILE tab ... the filing instruction pages for fed & state are in the PDF you download ... they are the first page in both files ... hard to miss. When using s DIY program the user is responsible for reading and following the directions ... otherwise why use the program at all ... see the screenshots below ...

Ouch !
I have been know to be blunt but it is the honest truth ... the DIY program takes the user "by the hand" but it cannot do the return by itself ... there must be a driver in the "car" to read the road signs.
ouch to the poster, not to you , critter-3.
