How do I Efile state only on TurboTax?

You can only e-file a state return in TurboTax if the Federal return has been filed and accepted using TurboTax - either by e-filing both at the same time OR by e-filing the state after the Federal has been accepted.  If you mailed in your Federal return, you would have to mail in your State return also.

If you are trying to just file a State return & have not filed a Federal return, TurboTax state program is designed to transfer information from your federal return. For this reason, TurboTax state isn't sold as a standalone tax-preparation product.
