TurboTax does not support tax year 2021. The license code for the 2021 software is no longer valid.
Sorry...only installations for 2022 and newer can be done now....and 2022 will disappear sometime this year.
Anything already installed in old computers for before 2022 will continue to work, but no new installations can happen for those older years.
Try to get/create any PDF files you have from any of the prior years on that old computer now. Copy them the new computer.......... And back them up on a USB flash drives to store in a file drawer, and bank safe-deposit box (if you have one). The PDF files for each year can be read anytime, while the tax datafiles themselves would require that year's actual software.
But why do you need 2021 installed at all? What are you trying to transfer? Do you need to open a 2021 tax file ending in .tax2021?
Just came across a post that the user figured out how to get a prior year dowload if you have the license code. Don't know if it will work to download 2021 since it's over 3 years old. But give it a try. If you try it let me know what happens.
He said......
I went to my Turbotax account to the page that showed the software that I purchased directly from Intuit (and not the programs I was looking for) and it shows my purchases and the ability to download. Also, in the middle of screen it says this:
"Need a download or a download for a different operating system (Windows or Mac)? "enter your license code here." Your license code is included with your original purchase."
And I assumed it just meant changing the OS version for the products that were listed, but it turns out you can enter any valid product key and get a download. So I'm good.
