I am trying to file my state taxes in Massachusetts. I’m being told forms aren’t available to e-file. The only forms I have are a w2 and a 1099-G … I’m not understanding

Does this mean I’ll have to mail my state? This has never happened to me before.

You don’t have to mail in your return. You just have to wait.

The forms that are not available for e-file are the Massachusetts forms. Many of those are expected to be ready on Thursday, Jan. 26. The others are coming soon.

E-filing is better than mailing and many Massachusetts forms for mailing are not expected to be available until Jan. 26 either.

For forms availability check Massachusetts Individual Form Availability.

Even then...might be better to wait until tomorrow 27 Jan.

Don't get caught in the inevitable crush today..
