I am trying to efile using direct debit payment method. It will not accept my pyment date of 4/15/2019. Why!?!?

Be sure to enter the date as DD/MM/YYYY instead of month, day, year.

see the updated comments in the answer above about using IRS Direct Pay as that automatically files an extension for you.
