Use the information in the following TurboTax help article to guide you and find the place to enter the health insurance premiums for your situation:
Where do I enter my health insurance premiums if I'm self-employed?
This is not correct, I spoke with your technical team who confirmed there is a bug with your online system, the ability to enter this doesn’t exist and your developer team needs to fix this. This bug causes previous years medical expenses to be wrong. There is also a known bug where your system calculates estimated tax payments wrong. I am unable to use Turbo Tax this year and am spending my Sunday doing my taxes manually.
@jeffwaterstreet In the self-employment section of the program for Expenses -
On the screen Select any new expense categories you have under Less Common, scroll using > to 3.
Select Health insurance premiums
Thanks, but what you are showing doesn't exist in the online program. However, I was able to get this entered in a different way, in the Income/ K-1 entry screens there is a box for adding health insurance premiums. It doesn't make any sense to have it in the K-1 entry process, but it accomplishes the goal.
I still need to figure out a workaround for the estimated tax payments penalty bug. (I didn't pay my estimated tax payment by Jan 15 because I was planning to file by the Feb 2 date, so I must file by tomorrow to have no penalty, the program doesn't recognize this)
@jeffwaterstreet That screenshot was from the online program. Using the Premium online edition, Self-employed section in Wages & Income
I have a LLC so it flows into my income as a K-1, not a Schedule C, so there is no Self Employment section as you describe. I think that is why they put this potential deduction into the K-1 entry process, because they don't have a way of entering in otherwise?
I created a dummy Self Employed company, and now I see the screens you showed. But I cannot go that route, I have a K-1.
fine,
DoninGA
it shows that . but when you click and it opens there is no option to enter anything. Only continue which brings to back to where you started.
What version are you using? @zid
