Turbotax Online works only for current year (2016) taxes, and not for any other year.
If you want to use TurboTax for any other year you will need to purchase the Desktop Version for each year that you need to file. You can do that at this link:
http://shop.turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products.jsp

You can download the Forms and Instructions free from the IRS web site at this link:
http://www.irs.gov/app/picklist/list/priorFormPublication.html

In any event, you have to file the return by mail. Turbotax does not support e-file of prior year returns. Tip: If you prepare multiple years of prior returns, mail each one to the IRS in a separate envelope to be sure that each one is recognized as a separate tax return.

The current tax year is still 2015. I will not file 2016 year taxes until 2017. I purchased 2015 Turbo Tax deluxe, completed it but was advised I could not claim my son as an exemption b/c he had already claimed himself. So I got an extension. I am late--should have filed by October 15th, so I will owe a couple months interest and penalty, which the IRS will deduct from my refund. My son filed an amended return and that has been cleared up. So now I am ready to finish filing my 2015 return.

So do I understand that I now have to print and manually file the 2015 return?

You still need to mail in the return ... efile for 2015 has ended.  If you have a copy ready to mail you do not need the downloaded version,

That is correct. Turbotax will not now e-file a 2015 tax return.

Did you use Online TurboTax originally?   If you need to make any changes before mailing, since you already paid for the return, TurboTax Support should furnish you the program download.  You don't have to pay again.

Also be sure to sign and date the paperwork before mailing.  When I mail things to the IRS, I like to do it with tracking such as certified return receipt or priority mail.

If you are getting a refund, there is no penalty for a late return.
