I am not able to e-file my Maryland state taxes because the final tax check will not allow the MD county entry to be empty. Baltimore City residents must leave it empty.

On the county of residence dropdown list, Baltimore City will be listed as a county. It is the 3rd one down on the list, above Baltimore County. If you select State Taxes from the left-hand side menu, select Go to state return, select Edit next to Maryland,  and then select Edit next to General info, you'll be able to go through the questions again to update your answer for county.

Thank you for the response.  There seems to be a dropdown menu difference between TurboTax versions. I have Deluxe this year and it doesn’t show Baltimore City as an option. I’ve used Premiere in past years and it was listed in the dropdown menu.

Baltimore City and Baltimore County are two different tax jurisdictions (Baltimore City is not part of Baltimore county as many other major cities are).  The form clearly states to leave blank if you are a resident of Baltimore city.  The software needs to be fixed.  Please escalate.
