What $3000 education credit are you referring to?
I meant that I am over the income (AGI) limit of $180,000 by $3,000. Is there a way I can lower my AGI , to be eligible for the education credit. I don't know how much is the education credit. I have two kids in college.
Thanks
If you are not covered by a retirement plan at work, you could make a traditional IRA contribution that would lower your adjusted gross income for the education credit earnings limit. You may also be able to do something similar if you are self-employed. Otherwise, I don't know of any way you can lower your adjusted gross income.
