I am married but separated and I don't have access to my spouse ssn. What do I do?

How do you mail in your tax return
if you don't have your spouse's ssn?

Using the TurboTax program enter 999-88-9999 for the spouse SS number.  When the return is printed for mailing, erase the spouse SS number and write in UNKNOWN

i would also include with the return his name and last known address. the IRS may inquire because it  may want to check whether both of used the same method for deductions - standard or itemized.
