I am filing my taxes now and after entering my W-2 I moved on to enter my 1098-T. I am done and am ready to file my return but it is asking me to pay, I thought its free

A 1098-T cannot be entered in the Free Edition. You were required to upgrade to Deluxe to enter it. Deluxe is $39.99 for federal, $39.99 for state and an additional $39.99 if you choose the optional service to pay the fees from your federal refund. You can avoid the optional service fee by paying with a credit card.
