I am filing a 2024 tax return jointly with my wife. I have followed every page to indicate that we are married, but the tax profile for my spouse does NOT come up?

To go back and indicate that you would like to file jointly with your wife follow these steps.

  1. Log in to Turbo Tax - be sure you are logged in for link below to work.
  2. Go to the Personal profile screen, and under Your info select your name, then select Edit/Review.
  3. Continue until you reach the About your household screen.
    • Under Married, change the selection to Plan to file separately or as head of household (special rules apply).
    • Select Continue and follow the instructions.
  4. Go through your federal and state returns again, just to make sure everything looks OK and makes sense.

No. This did not help.

Personal Profile does not present Marital status for edit/review.

Return to the Personal Info tab if using TurboTax Desktop, or in TurboTax Online, open your return and then select My Info from the left side menu.

This section is where you enter all of the information needed for your marital status and filing status. You would select "married filing jointly" if that is your chosen filing status, and TurboTax will prompt you to enter information about your spouse if you haven't already done so.

Please see this TurboTax help article for more information.
