TT Online is only good for 1 return per account.  If you preparing for friends and family, try TT desktop instead.  It can handle multiple returns and can efile up to 5.

I am filing 5 federal returns along with state using desktop. My first state downloaded was free, my 2nd state downloaded was $39.99 and now my 3rd state to download is $45? What is going on?

Are they all for different states?  If they are all in the same state is it free except to efile.  And it is now $25 to efile each state return in the desktop program.   Oh, there was a price increase on March 1.  The early prices expired.  Each additional state PROGRAM download went from 40 to 45.

Thanks, why don't they tell you about the price increases anywhere, it is very confusing.

If I had known there was going to be a price increase March 1st I would have purchased my states all at once.  Sneaking way for TurboTax to get extra money.  What has happened to company morals, no longer in existence!

The early prices expire every year on March 1 although years ago it was mid March.  Try to remember for next year.

And make sure you file your own tax return before anyone else's in your family....some  types of error rejections will use up one of the e-files, so there may be fewer than 5 allowed.
