I am doing the federal review for a dependent whose ACA coverage was through his parent's insurance but the federal review keeps bringing me back to fill out the health questions and then wont let me in to answer them becuase it says he is already covered

Go back to Personal Info section and uncheck the box stating that they can be claimed on another person's tax return. Then go to health insurance tab and answer the questions, press continue/next. Then run error check and you should be out of loop now. Now go back to Personal Info and correct the claim dependent information back. Run Smart check and it should all be fixed.

I'm having difficulty 'unchecking' the dependent box on my son's return since the option doesn't seem to be there.  Still stuck in the maddening loop of requiring health care info, and then not be able to enter any info (since he's covered) and so on and so on.  I can't even find the 'error check' feature let alone the 'Smark Check' feature...  this is a huge timewaster...

The claimed as a dependent entries are in the Personal Info section. Go to the beginning in the Personal Info section and scroll down. Question 3 will ask "someone else can claim me as a dependent on their tax return".. The following question asks if this person will claim me.
