The program would not ask for the SSN of the parent who is claiming you as a dependent unless you are were entering unearned income (interest, dividends, or capital gains) of $2,700 or more on your tax return. And it is taxed at the parent's rate if the parent's rate is higher than the child's.
What income are you entering on your tax return?
No. In most cases, you will need to give your mom's Social Security number because she's claiming you as a dependent. It's also a requirement to prove your dependency status.
If your mom has an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), she should use it in the proper field instead.
