Check your marital status and filing status to see if the correct information has been entered.

• Click on My Info down the left side of the screen.
• Under the Personal info summary, scroll down to the Marital status in the center of the screen.
• Click Edit to the right to make changes to your marital status or filing status.

TurboTax will ask questions to compute your correct filing status.

If you are using an old account where you filed married  then you should stop and open a new account with a new user ID and password  ESPECIALLY if you were listed as the spouse on the old joint return.
