I am an architect and hired a web designer (not hosting). What category is that expense?

It could go either as professional fees or web site expenses.

I know that, but what IRS category, Misc Expenses, Consultant/Professional Services, Office expenses? Does it matter? Thx

It doesn't really matter- you can put it as Professional Services.
