Are you self-employed? You are using the self-employed product which is not free.If you are not self-employed go back and sign up for the free product if you qualify for it.

Free filing is for simple tax returns.

It appears you are using TurboTax Self-Employed. The creation of a Schedule C to report the income and expenses from self employment income is one of the most complicated tax forms.

If you don't wish to pay for this program, I suggest you try to the Free File Edition, While the name is similar to Free Edition, there are no upgrade costs.

To you qualify

Make less than $34,000 a year or

Qualify for the Earned Income Credit or

Active military making less than $66,000
