I am a real estate investor. Do I have to put sales tax into schedule A, or can I include sales tax instead on things that I depreciate in Schedule E ? What are the benefits to putting into Schedule A if I am allowed to do so?

Sales taxes paid on items used in a business or a rental remains with those expenses or assets  on the Sch C or Sch E ... they are NOT personal taxes paid entered on a Sch A.

for schedule E items if you capitalize them sales tax is part of the cost. if they're an expense they're part of the expense.  they are not separate expense or capital cost items.
