I am 20 years old, full time college student. My parents claim me as dependant. Started a part-time job in Feb, with monthly wage less than $1k.Am I required to file tax?

Your parents can claim you as a dependent if they provided more than half of your support in 2017. They can also claim your education expenses.

If you have wages of more than $6,350 or income reported on a form 1099-MISC of more than $400, you are required to file your own tax return. If you earned less than these amounts, you may file a tax return to obtain a refund of your federal and tax taxes withheld. You must indicate on your return that you can be claimed as a dependent by someone else.
