If you filed a joint return with your wife, then you will need to amend the joint return and add your W-2 and any other income you may have. All of your income, expenses and deductions will go on one return when you file a joint return. There is no need to file a second return. The only time you would file 2 federal returns when married is if you are choosing to file Married Filing separately.
The amended forms are not quite ready yet. They are generally available sometime between mid February to early March. When they are ready, if your intention was to file a joint return, you will simply click on the Amend your Return button when logging into the return you filed for her. Add your W-2 and any other information that was missed and then you can retransmit your return.
If your intention was actually to file separate returns, then you would need to amend her return, and change her filing status. If you added any of your tax forms to that return, you would need to delete them.
You would need to print and mail you return as it takes up to 20 weeks for the IRS to process amended returns so your would not be accepted electronically until her amended return was processed.
