If you weren't married by 12/31/22 you are still Single or Head of Household if you have a child. You can't claim your boyfriend as a dependent unless he made less than $4,400 total for the year. So you each file as Single. No change by living together until you get married.
Your BF cannot be a qualifying relative dependent, so you cannot use him to file as Head of Household. If you have a qualifying child dependent you can file as HOH. As VolvoGirl mentioned, unless BF made less than $4400 in 2022 he cannot be claimed as your dependent at all. Both of you just file as Single. You cannot file a joint return unless you are legally married.
Even if your BF qualified as your dependent (he lived with you all year and made less than $4400), he would still not be a qualifying person for Head of Household, because he is not related. You would still file Single.
