How would a donationto an organization work if I I know that they received the check end of 2019 but can see that the check didn't clear bank until 2020 can I use this as a 2019 donation?

If you wrote the check and gave it to them in 2019 you can deduct it.

The charity has constructively received the donation when they received the check.
