Yes, there is a different version for each tax year (e.g., 2018 Free Edition TurboTax, 2019 Free Edition TurboTax).

The 2019 version will probably not be released until later this month or, more likely, December.

The 2019 program will not be fully operational until sometime in January or later as many forms take longer to become operational.  And the IRS will not start accepting returns until mid to late January ... a date has not been released yet.
