We don't know your story.  Does "revert back" mean you were using desktop TurboTax at first?    You'll need to explain how you came to be in Online TurboTax.  Was it through some special offer to switch?    Do you already have the desktop software installed on your computer?    Is your computer running Windows 11 or Mac OS Sonoma 14 or higher?

In Online TurboTax see if this shortcut helps you to enter your gross sales:

  • In the left menu column click on TAX TOOLS, then TOOLS.
  • In the Tools center click on blue button TOPIC SEARCH.
  • In the search line enter the term gross receipts without quotes.
  • Make the selection in the list (may already be highlighted) and either double-click it or click GO.
  • If it takes you to a business summary screen, click on REVIEW.
  • On the next page, Epenses will be first.  So scroll way down that page to the Income section.
  • If you entered income previously, there is an edit pencil icon.
  • There is also a button to "Add income for this work."

I bought the software Home and Business 2025 at Costco  during installing Turbotax invited me to do my taxes online,  which I accepted,  for me huge mistake, all I wanted to do is file an extension,  even doing was a nightmare to find where,  I finally got smart and ask my AI  as I was getting Zero help from that software in finding the right location,

Any how after doing the basic preliminary online,  I want to abandon doing it online and do on desktop version with which I can crank my work without begging for info.

so I guess I need to  install again the software , refuse their offer to do online  put my Serial Number,   re-import my last year return and start from scratch on desktop,

Once you get the program installed you can move your online return to it without needing to start over.  Have you done a lot in the Online version?

There is a new way to move and continue your Online return in the Desktop program.   To continue in the desktop version see this…….

In the Desktop program try to OPEN your return. Do not click "Start a New Return." Go up to File-Open and click on "Continue From TurboTax Online."

If you started your return in TurboTax Online, you can access that return from the desktop software, after installing it of course.   Or you can start a new return and transfer in last year's if you prefer.   After you get the software installed, you should see the Continue From TurboTax Online option.

If you use that option, you do have to ''sign in'' to access the return, but you can sign out afterwards.

A note >>   If you use the SEARCH 🔍 feature in the desktop software and you are signed in, you will be taken to the TurboTax online digital assistant.    But if you are ''signed-out'' - you will get a pop-up to sign-in which you can close to access the software's default SEARCH 🔍 feature without the digital assistant.
