How to report attorney fees from 1099-misc that went to law firm I work for?

I rec'd a 1099-misc form for $6k for attorney fees. I'm an attorney and I repped a client on a Soc Sec Disability case. The entire $6k went to my employer, not to me, yet I got a 1099. Do I report the $6k from the 1099-misc, even though I did not personally receive the income?

You either need to ask the Payer for a corrected 1099-MISC or report the income on the 1099-MISC and then indicate that you received that income as a nominee for your employer.
