If you do not have one, have you verified that there is not one available at the Marketplace website? It is very important that you check with that website to confirm before you go any further. Warning: If there is a 1095-A out there and you take the steps below to file your return without it, you may receive a CP2000 from the IRS as well as a long delay in processing. Once you have confirmed there is no 1095-A on file,
To (really) delete the form, you will revisit the section and answer YES when asked if you received a 1095-A. This is just so you can see the form to delete it if it is stuck.
Search for 1095-A or search for 1095-a and use the Jump to 1095-a link to be taken to the questions.
Answer the question about unemployment and the next screen will show your 1095-A that was started.
Use the Delete button or the trash can icon depending on your version to delete the form.
Confirm the deletion.
In Forms Mode, (desktop software) or click on Tax Tools (left side menu) >>> Tools >>> Delete a form in TurboTax Online. Verify there are no 1095-A or 8962 forms in the list to delete. If so, delete them.
Resubmit your return for e-filing.
If it gets rejected yet again, use the workaround below. This will not affect anything on your return, but having the form there allows the IRS to accept your return. Workaround steps:
I have never been involved with ACA, I don't know why it's in my return. I had the same problem last year with Turbo Tax, and it was a nightmare.
Same problem this year, and I purchased the CD. I submitted my return last year and it was rejected.
An expert assisted me last year.
Now, I have the same problem this year, and I purchased the CD. My return was rejected.
The fix was find the 1095A, and the 8962 and delete them. I deleted them, submitted the return, it was rejected.
I reincorporated the 1095A and the 8962, submitted it again, rejected.
After years of being a fan, I'm really disheartened with Turbo Tax. I don't want to mail them, and if I do, I will search for another program next year.
If you do not have a Form 1095-A or a Form 8962 in your return and the rejection says that it is missing, the Marketplace my have told the IRS that you applied for coverage that you did not ultimately take, or that someone on your tax return did. Please call the Marketplace and be sure they do not have a Form 1095-A on record for anyone on your return, by name or social security number. Sometimes another person enters the wrong number on their application.
