I have tried to use the suggested method of using the Search option in the upper right corner and type "extend" (without using "s). I never get the option to click Yes and pursue actually filing for the extension. I keep getting AI telling me what filing an extension means (I know what it means) and other items that are of no help.
I just want to know how to file for the extension using TT desktop. Prior years it was a simple option when I opened the file.
I saw where I could file online using the Online Extension option, but why should I have to do that???
Any real help is appreciated.
Thank you.
PS: I'm using TT Home & Business, which is not one of the options in the dropdown for choosing my product. Really? Not good...

You cannot e-file an extension request using the TurboTax desktop editions. You can print and mail the Form 4868 using the desktop editions.
Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home & Business)
Click on Other Tax Situations
Under Other Tax Forms
On File an extension, click the start button
If you wanted to e-file the extension request you need to sign onto your TurboTax account.
See this for e-filing an extension - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/internal-revenue-service/file-irs-extens...
Last Year I filed an extension online with turbo tax. They do not offer that option now? If not they should STATE THAT FACT UP FRONT!
