I clicked on Underpayment penalty as part of the interview process in TT for the Feds.
I didn't owe any, but now that form is going to print out for my Fed forms.
And because I clicked on the Fed question, the California form 5805 (Underpayment penalty) comes up.
How can I delete both those forms before I file my taxes? Thanks.
P.S. I learned the trick that if I had uneven income for the year, I just kept clicking past it.
Then there's a question at the end of that section that says If you want to waive the penalty because you are retired, you don't need to fill out all those previous forms.

! If you retired after age 62 or became disabled in the tax year (and had reasonable cause for the underpayment), you can indeed request a waiver. Deleting the forms using:

California's Form 5805 is notoriously "sticky." If it reappears after you delete it, it’s usually because a box is still checked in the interview.

I was able to go to the form in the Fed section and delete the Underpayment penalty.
But when I went to the California State and said I wanted the govt to calculate my penalty, it still said it would include the penalty on my amount owed. (It was $20.00). I ended up clicking through all the buttons, and it finally said, If you are 62 or older and retired, you can waive the penalty. I wrote I was retired and wanted to waive the $20 penalty. So I got it to reduce my "penalty" and just pay the amount I owed without it.
Thanks for your advice!
