Yes, tax treaty exemptions appear under Foreign Earned Income and Exclusion under Wages & Income >> Less Common Income (see screenshot below - click to enlarge). You may need to click on "Show More" to reveal the additional income categories.

To find this section easily, open your return and search for foreign income. Click the "Jump to" link in the search results, and answer Yes to Did you Make any Money Outside the U.S.?

Follow the interview to answer questions regarding your foreign income and to see if you qualify for the foreign income exclusion (ie: tax treaty).

Hi Patricia - I found the "Foreign Earned Income and Exclusion" tab but couldnt figure out where to put tax treaty exemptions after I click into it. when I click "Foreign Earned Income and Exclusion", a window pops up and it asks "Did You Make Any Money Outside the United States?" - which I answered No. And then it just says Im not qualified and brings me back to the Wage & Income page. Can you walk me through where exactly to put the tax exemption amount?

If you earned Foreign Income, by definition, you made money outside the US. So answer that question "yes." This will take you through the exclusion interview. If you didn't earn money outside the US, there is no tax treaty to claim.
