How soon can I file my 2016 taxes?

Actually file - Jan 23 is when the IRS will start accepting tax returns. TurboTax will start taking returns about Jan 4 and hold them until the 23rd but if you send it to TurboTax, you cannot change it so it is better to wait. Most people do not even have their W-2 yet which is required if you are an employee.
