How much tax have I paid for 2016. Does the IRS have a site to check on how much tax has been paid for the current year?

doing taxes for father-in-law, who is 94.   It is not clear how much he has already paid toward the 2016 tax year.  Is there an IRS site to check on this.

Does he have taxes withheld from his retirement or Social Security benefits? If so, those will be recorded on the 1099-R and SSA-1099 forms he will get in Jan or Feb.

All the information comes in after the end of year, I am trying to be sure that he has paid enough estimated tax, as only the RMD has the 10% paid in taxes.  nothing else seems to paid to IRS.  Tnx.

The other issue is that the IRS would have a record only of any withholding that had been remitted to them so far, which may be less than the amount actually withheld.

I don't think the IRS will tell you anything unless you have a Power of Attorney.

Try this estimating tool to see how much yoru Dad would owe if the 10% is the only amount withheld
