How is that your company allows a refund to go into an account not in my name

My boyfriend whom I am not married too was able to put my refund into a bank account that is not in my name? Even IRs wont allow you to do this? So i just understand why it happened

HI. Once you submit your return to the IRS, the IRS processes it. After the IRS approves your refund, the IRS issues the refund directly to you by the means you requested. TurboTax does not process your refund or have access to it.

While there are no IRS rules that specifically forbid you from depositing your refund into someone else's account TurboTax does not recommend it. Most banks have fraud-prevention measures that won't allow a direct deposit into an account bearing a different name.

If your boyfriend filed a fraudulent return you will want to contact the IRS. Please see the following IRS information on reporting the fraudulent filing:
